The event is to celebrate the commitment made at the UNESCO-ICSU World Conference on Science in Budapest in 1999 which was implemented in 2001. The aim of the event is to stress the responsible use of science for the benefit of society and raise public awareness of its importance and to bridge the gap between science and societies. Officials from UNESCO, artists, scientists, and politicians attended the event. UN official at the event talked about the role of Iran in providing peace and stability in the region.
